From Tamil Nadu to Kerala.

The Isha Yoga Center students woke up at 4:30am to do their asanas and pranayama. We started our day at 6:30am wandering around the large ashram. The highlight of our day was the Theerthakund, a pool of (quite cool) water. The pool is done in an ancient way, with large steps down to the water like a stepwell, and a solidified and energized linga made of mercury in the middle. We took a bath, a little similar maybe to bathing in the Ganges. Somehow the Theerthakund seems to have balanced our prana (life energy) as we felt relaxed and balanced afterwards.

We finally left at 3pm. Four top Indian yoga centers are now on our minds and on film.
On the road again, we changed State from Tamil Nadu to Kerala and drove down to Cochin, where we spent the night to be ready at 6am for our the next adventure – the Sivananda Ashram in
Trivandrum. Good night from Kerala, also called “God’s Own Country”.
