Close to 1,000 people come to this yoga center everyday. Every minute the door opens, letting people go in and out. There are yoga classes for men, women, couples, children, companies, policemen, everyone!

The Yoga Institute is a lively place. “It is like the shade of a big tree”, says Rachel about the deep-rooted atmosphere at the oldest organised yoga center of the world (opened since 1918).

Dr. Jayadeva Yogendra, the son of the founder, a Yogi in his mid-eighties, teaches us on true yogic behaviour, which does not have too much relation to asanas.
Srimati Hansaji Jayadeva Yogendra, his wife, gave us wonderful explanations afterwards. We were experiencing The Yoga Institute as a very warm hearted and welcoming place, where we really felt looked after.

Once back to the hotel, Coni realized that he forgot his tripod at the back of the rickshaw. Within milliseconds he started the run of his life, throwing his chapels away to be faster, and stopped another rickshaw to chase the one we took before. 5 minutes later ‘Speedy Coni Gonzales’ was back with his tripod  🙂

Relieved and happy, we left Mumbai in the late afternoon – destination Pune.
